Latest Updates on the ANA Quality and Innovation Conference
Update: May 20, 2020
In March it was decided that, due to COVID-19, the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference® would be rescheduled and be co-located with the ANCC National Magnet Conference® in October.
When we announced this, we stated we would continue to assess the unfolding developments regarding coronavirus. Our priority remains the health and safety of all the world’s people, and our life’s work is to support the nurses and health care workers who are on the front lines during this pandemic. With these thoughts in mind, we are announcing the conference plan.

How did we get to this decision?
We gathered many data points including from public health authorities, conference and meeting industry experts, surveyed our sponsors and exhibitors, conference registrants, and Magnet and Pathway-designated nurses and program leaders. Results showed the unknown challenges that face conference and large gatherings, safety and security concerns and what is most important for our customers. Survey data revealed nurses and their program leaders are very interested in receiving the rich content that these conferences provide, and our exhibitors and sponsors are very interested in connecting with this valuable nursing audience. We also learned that there is a lot of uncertainty now as the need for nurses on the front lines is shifting and budgets are being reduced.
One thing remains constant: nurses are more important than ever right now, and our primary goal is to do everything we can to support them.
